Engelberg is well-connected to the Swiss railway network. Direct trains run regularly from Lucerne to Engelberg, with the journey taking approximately 45 minutes.

  • The last train from Lucerne to Engelberg departs at 23:10
  • Swiss Travel Pass and Eurail/Interrail passes are valid

By Car

If you're driving to Engelberg, the village is easily accessible via well-maintained roads. From Lucerne, the drive takes approximately 35 minutes via the A2 motorway and then the main road through Stans.

Parking Information:

  • Free parking is available at Tannenboden Chalet for guests
  • Public parking in the village costs CHF 2 per hour or CHF 15 per day
  • During winter, snow chains may be required
